Westerwood Porch Photos

Betsy Blake and Cecelia Thompson, Westerwood residents, are organizing a porch portrait project to document Westerwood neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine. Our goal is to shed light on the neighborhood, now in its 101th year, for the Greensboro History Museum. We want to offer a time capsule of the beauty and struggle we are facing as a gift to the generations ahead. Plus, neighbors will get professional photographs taken for their own memory books.

If you are interested in having your family photographed on your porch, please fill out the interest form, below.  We will assign you a 15 minute evening photo session in the next two weeks, May 8-22, 2020. Limited times are available, so we appreciate your flexibility. Portraits will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis and are limited to the Westerwood Neighborhood.

Be Yourself

Our goal is to showcase the current state of things. Feel free to wear masks, aprons, sweatpants, whatever is authentic to your experience! You don’t have to prepare. Just be you, and step outside.
